• Depth room: The depth of your garage must be enough to allow the entire garage door to fit in that space when the door is up. This space should measure the height of the door plus 18 inches.
• Taller vehicles: If you want to store your heavy-duty truck or recreational vehicle in your garage, you may need to make your garage door size as high as 12 feet. Accessories such as a snowplow on the grill or extended side mirrors may mean that you should increase the width to 10 feet for a comfortable fit.
• Extra vehicles: If your garage is big enough, having multiple garage doors is an easy solution to allow all of your cars in the garage. Typical setups have one double-car door and one single-car door or a single-car door for each vehicle.
